Trying to post from my iphone

So trying the wordpress app for the iPhone. Kinda cool. Also I really like the app from ancestry.com it let’s you have your tree and info right on your phone.

My cat

Miss ya!!

Miss ya!!

forgive the off topic nature of this, but my cat, Bela Lugosi (like the Dracula actor ’cause he’s a tuxedo cat) had to be put to sleep this week. He was my longtime companion and provided comfort to me thru a lot of turmoil and good times both over the last 16+ years. He was always at the door when I came home from work, woke me up when I overslept, and watched Cartoon Network with me. I’m gonna miss him a lot!

I’m back

So, Hurricane Gustav only wrecked a week of my life, not several months like Katrina….

Anyway, I’m back!

Found ancestry.com has Illinois state census and found Joseph Golladay living near David Whitney. Continues to sort of support the Golladay/Light/Whitney links.

Still working on the Long’s in Buchanan County too. I’ve had no luck clearing up the discrepency with Albert T. Long’s father’s name. Sherman seems to be right, but there’s no record of him other than Albert’s Obit.

Yikes!!

Well, just letting everyone know the blog may not get updated for awhile. I live in New Orleans and have to get out of town due to Gustav, so might not be doing much on here geneaology wise for awhile. Stay tuned tho, ’cause we’ll be back soon!!!

The Moser Migration

Here’s a little google map showing the Moser’s traveling thru the country! It needs some work. You have to click on the blue labels to get the info to show up, I’d rather it popped up when you hovered over it. Also, maybe different colors, but still it’s helpful in seeing where they were at different times. I think I might make one for each census year to show where each family was at the time.
