A little error out there

Yep, there’s a a few errors out there about our family. Some pretty understandable, some transcription erros and some just bad speculation. I’ll occasionally post a few on here to help me (and maybe you) keep track. Otherwise I find myself going back and cleaning up the same misinformation time after time. And, if anyone finds errors on mine on here….well LET ME KNOW! : )

So, I was looking at the Kansas Pioneers site and saw they have Oliver Perry whitney and Cordelia Moser and Samuel and Rebecca Moser all as pioneers in Burr Oak, Doniphan starting in 1874. Well, that’s probably not right. I know the info makes sense when you look at birth places and years of the childrens births, but my own research would place OP and Cordelia in Smith County, KS in 1875 as the earliest documented place in Kansas. Samuel Moser first shows on a census in Kansas in Burr Oak Doniphan in 1895 and Rebecca nevers appears in Kansas. Sam and Rebecca move to Nebraska from Iowa in 1873 and live there apparently until Rebecca’s death. Most documents I’ve found show OP and Cordelia coming from Iowa directly to Kansas then going to Nebraska around 1880 after Joe Galladay’s death. Anyway, there’s no documents I can find showing any of them in Doniphan COunty in 1874. The link to the Pioneers site is here http://skyways.lib.ks.us/kansas/genweb/pioneers/piolstwz.html
